A day in the life

Wednesday, April 29, 2015

Hey y'all. I have always liked these posts. Mostly just because I am nosy and like to see what goes on in other peoples lives. So, if you want to know how our usual day goes keep reading...
This just happened to be a Tuesday, which is one of the three days Liam goes to therapy.
6:30- my alarm goes off. I groan and press the snooze. Just 5 more minutes I tell myself.
7:00- wake up and realize I slept through my second alarm. I run around grabbing clothes and trying to wrangle the kids. I swear trying to dress Liam is like trying to put a shirt on a tornado. I also make breakfast and throw together a lunch for Liam.
7:45- We leave the house and pray that the traffic isn't bad at the gate. We live about 1 mile from the base but around this time in the morning it is horrendous.
8:00- I drop Logan off just in time to hear the bell.
8:30- Drop Liam off at therapy/MDO. He stays there until 1230 so Nora and I have 4 Hrs to waste.
9:00- I get home, make Nora a snack (grapes and cheerios. I pick my battles) start laundry and finally start my first cup of coffee. This is usually when I catch up on my blog reading but I decided that playing Skyrim was more important.
12:30- I pick up Liam, stop by Starbucks for a green tea.
1:00- I put the kids down for a nap, wake up Mr. Geek and head to the gym.
2:45- I pick up Logan from school. Come home and help with homework.
4:00- I start dinner, unload/reload the dishwasher.
5-7:00 We eat dinner, play outside if it's nice.
7-8:00- bath time, read a couple books and bed time.
8:15-930- Mr. Geek and I will usually play a game. Slap Jack is my new obsession even though I have NEVER won a damn game. We change it up all the time phase 10, rummy and Diablo III. This is a time for us to spend together. I also have a glass or two of my favorite wine. Mia Dolcea.
10:00- I take a shower, blow dry my hair, wash my face and head to bed.
Then start it all over again tomorrow. I always feel like I don't have enough time in the day. Especially because Liams' therapy is a good 30 minutes away. I feel like I spend most of my day in my car. And there is never enough coffee. Why is there never enough coffee?!

Mother's Day Gift Guide

Mother's Day Gift Guide

Hey y'all. Happy Monday and how is almost MAY?! With May comes Mother's Day. These are a few things I would like to open. I have been lusting over those Kendra Scott earrings since they came out. The name is Danielle earrings, how perfect is that? I really need a watch and I think this MK one would do the trick. I noticed that I have been leaning more and more towards gold accessories lately. I used to think it washed me out (high five for being pale) but that gorgeous Kate Spade bracelet and the bag. Ohhhh that bag. The live long and prosper would look awesome in my office above our "geek shelf" What?! You're telling me, you don't have one? Shame on you. Also WHO could say no to that shirt. See what I did there? Okay lovelies, I am off to pour my fourth cup of coffee (yes FOURTH.)

Friday's Favorites

Friday, April 17, 2015

**DISCLAIMER** this is NOT a sponsored post. These companies have no idea who I am. I was not compensated in any way. I just really love them.

Happy Friday Y'all! We made it! It's the weekend!! I decided to start a weekly post called Friday's Favorites. It will be just a couple things I am loving lately. So, let's get to it.

First and foremost. THIS came out yesterday.

I cannot explain the level of excitement that I have for this. It's bad. Seriously. Plus, I saw it before Mr. G (and that has never happened!) soooooo, let's just say I felt pretty awesome.

I have not shared a lot about myself or my family yet but I have decided to be completely open and transparent here. My son Liam has Autism and Sensory Processing Disorder. It took quite a while to get him diagnosed and we are doing the best we can. One thing that we love are the alert me bands. We got ours a couple weeks ago and loved them so much I just ordered another. I love that they have all kinds of patterns, colors and that it's not just for special needs kids. They are impossible for kids to get off (and sometimes me haha) and today only they are having a sale for the light it up blue band.

OMG.THIS STUFF IS AMAZING. I literally downed at least two pints after my wisdom tooth surgery and I had zero guilt. I really want to try the pecan and the new dreamscicle one. ::swoon::

Y'all. I live in the South. The humidity is insane. I hate it. Before I found this setting spray I felt like as soon as I stepped outside my makeup just melted off. Urban Decay nailed it. I used it yesterday (the humidity was approximately 1000%) and I still had makeup to take off at the end of the day. Which brings me to the last of my faves...
I had no idea this existed until I watched Ingrid Nilsen in this video. After hearing her rave about it, I made my way to Target (I swear, I go in there for one thing and I come out with $200 worth of shit.) and at $6.99 I would say this is a total win. It took off all my makeup and since using it I have noticed that my face has not been as dry lately.

Well that is it. What have you been loving lately? Anything I should be checking out or you think I cannot live without? Let me know in the comments!

Wisdom Tooth Nightmare

Wednesday, April 15, 2015

Hey y'all. Sorry it has been so quiet around here. I am currently writing this from my phone, in bed after taking some pain meds. Last Saturday I had all four of my wisdom teeth extracted. It has not been fun to say the least. The left side of my face swelled up to at least 4Xs its regular size. Don't believe me? I have proof. I cannot believe I put that on the internet. Must be the vicodin. Plus, every time I see that picture I laugh.
I have an Ulta haul and a IT cosmetics review and some other things in the works. Hopefully things will pick up around here in the next couple of days.

Welcome

Monday, April 6, 2015

Hey y'all and welcome to Geeks and Glam where it's all about my love for all things girly and geeky. Current trends, shoes, and of course Doctor Who will be making an appearance very soon. This Easter was the best yet. We had egg hunts and lots of food. Lots of food. Plus, who wouldn't want to end the night playing Munchkin with my nerdy best friend.
                                                               Easter Bunny was here.

Yes, that is Mr. Geek with the weird pose.
Oh and I can't leave y'all without sharing the 50% off EVERYTHING at The Loft with code CYBER50. It ends tonight at midnight so hurry!!
